I am trying remove an old kenmore spacemaster (model # 564.8568510) and can't find the installation manual the owners manual refers to in the installation sec
I am trying to remove a Kenmore Spacemaster over the hood microwave. Its an old beast from 1985 and the model number is 564.8568510. The manual provided on this site has an installation section but the section refers the user to another manual which I cannot find. I have tried removing the 4 bolts on the top of the microwave but its still quite attached and I can't figure out what needs to be done next to remove it. I do not see a lever that would release the unit after removing the front grill. Can someone provide the manual or even better yet, instructions for removing this unit.Thanks

Jimmy K, July 19, 2010I am glad you got the information you needed. Salina did a good job. There will be 2 bolts behind the grill across the top of the microwave holding it to the mounting bracket. Sometimes these bolts turn 90 or 180 degrees to release and sometimes you have to unscrew them. Start 2 of the bolts from the top back into the microwave so it doesn't fall on you. These old microwaves are heavier than the ones we have now. The mounting bolts were usually 3/8 or 5/16 heads and there will be one on each side. |
