Know Your DStv Now App – Windows XP/7/8/10 and MAC PC

DStv Now is the home of DStv on the go! Watch live TV, DStv Catch Up and more.

Support for Windows XP (and Vista) was dropped when Apple released iTunes 12.2 last year. The latest (and almost certainly last) version to support XP is 12.1.3.6 - this is an out-of-sequence release from September 2015 that adds support for iOS 9 devices but lacks Apple Music and other features added in iTunes 12.2 and 12.3.

I have a Mac, but I want to delete Mac OS X because all I like is the hardware. I don’t want to use OS X. I want to install Windows XP. How can I do this?

  1. i'm trying to install windows xp on my mac os x and delete the mac os x ../ but i think you can't do that after a day search on google ../ you can install windows xp just from boot camp .. /- search on google.com how to install windows xp with boot camp to mac os x .-

  2. If you use Boot Camp, unless it somehow links the partitions, you should be able to just boot into a LiveCD after you setup the Windows partition and format the OS X partition. I wouldn't recommend doing that though, because it'll be a PITA if you have to reinstall it later, and just leaving it on a partition (even if it's somewhat small since you wont be using it) shouldn't affect anything.

  3. You can install Windows straight from CD/DVD (hold down C to boot from the optical disc). You do NOT need to use Boot Camp or have Mac OS X on the machine if you don't want to. Since Macs use Open Firmare, rather than BIOS bootup, you cannot use older versions of XP, but Vista/7 should be OK.

  4. If you want to run Windows XP without [boot camp and] having Mac OS X installed you can follow these steps:

    1. boot from the Mac OS X Install DVD
    2. click on Utilities > Disk Utility
    3. select your Hard Disk and click on the 'Partition' tab
    4. make the following selection and then click apply

    - 1 Partition (name doesn't matter, format MS-DOS FAT)
    - click the 'Option' button and select 'Master Boot Record' as scheme

    5. exit Disk Utility and restart the Mac while keeping the 'alt/option' key pressed

Once the boot menu appears hit the eject key on the keyboard, insert your Windows XP Installation CD and wait a second or two. The Windows disk should appear for booting.

The rest is plain old Windows installation therefor no further instructions at this time. Once Windows is up and running insert the Mac OS X Installation disc again and open it in the Explorer - you should find all necessary Windows drivers on it.

  5. Hello, I do not think you can delete OSX on a mac. Besides if you try to only keep windows in it you might have trouble with drivers and compatibility. What don't you try a little bit of both worlds by either using parallels or boot camp. Besides, it is never a bad experience to be familiar with both. Parallels lets you run windows inside a virtual machine:

Boot camp lets you dual boot a mac and a windows system:

  6. You cannot do what you're proposing. So the question that comes to mind is why do you have a Mac if you don't want to run OS X?

If you want to run Windows on your Mac, Mac OS X must be on it, too. The hardware is tied to OS X, and Boot Camp requires OS X to be present in order to run. Download free prolapse the italian flag rarest. If you can't live with that, then you're out of luck.

  7. Use Boot Camp, which comes with your Mac. Boot Camp is often used to run newer versions of Windows like Windows 7, but it also supports Windows XP.
